"The Great Mage Everglow" is a novel I am writing and have been actively writing and working on since March 2025. Now that it's in its homestretch, As the author I must start thinking about cover designs and how I present the book.
What you have below are three concepts I made and what I think of them. I hope you enjoy!

As an illustrator, I want my debut novel to have an illustration that is mysterious and lures the reader into a strange adventure.
Depicted is Ms. Cassandra Everglow, the protagonist of the story, entering a glowing door, a shadow over her face.
It's mean to incite feelings on uncertainly and the glowing white door certainly makes me feel uneasy.
Is the door a metaphor? Is it death? Who knows!

When getting inspiration for these covers, a lot of fantasy novels have these simple backgrounds with one major element where the title sits.
While no dreamcatchers appear in the book, dreams are an important aspect of the story, so making sure the reader is aware of dreamcatcher and therefore dreams, will make them aware to keep an eye out for such things.

I really liked the simple design aspect so I have a cover that highlights a diamond.
The diamond in the narrative doesn't become important until the very end, so like the dreamcatcher, readers will be curious about this diamond and be left wondering why is this diamond so important it's on the front cover.
Plus the blues on the dark background look great!
